DCP26 – Dynamics and Complexity Pisa 2026

DCP26 – a brief presentation

DCP is an inter-disciplinary workshop focused on non-linear dynamics, statistical mechanics and complexity in multiple areas, from mathematics to physics, life sciences, climatology, economy, social sciences, and philosophy. The event will be available both in presence and online. DCP26 strongly encourages sumbission of talks or posters contributions. DCP26 aims at improving cooperation between research grups, and promotes gender equality.

Scientific Sessions

DCP26 will host the following sessions:

  • Nonlinear science, dynamics, statistical physics
  • Complex systems in Economics and Finance
  • Metrology in Complex Systems
  • Complexity in life science

Marcello Buiatti Memorial Award (4th ed.)

The Buiatti Family, in collaboration with the University of Pisa and CISSC, has established, for the fourth consecutive year, the Master’s Thesis Award in memory of Professor Marcello Buiatti. The award is intended for Master’s theses defended at the University of Pisa that address theoretical foundations or applied perspectives in the field of Complex Systems. Terms and conditions for participation will be announced shortly.

Conference Venue

The 2026 edition of DCP will be hosted in the “Aula Dini” of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, in the building called “Palazzo del Castelletto”, in via del Castelletto, a street close to the famous Cavalieri’s Square in the very center of Pisa.

DCP26 Key Dates:

  • Poster submission: from May 1st to June 15th.
  • Communication of poster acceptance: June 21st
  • Meeting: July 9th-10th

Poster submission:

DCP26 strongly encourages participants—especially early-career researchers—to submit posters. Poster abstracts can be submitted via a form that will be made available on this page after May 1st.
